* kemonomimi (獣耳), or "animal ears", is a Japanese concept in which human characters are depicted with ears and other animal features such as tails, whiskers, and so on.
** netsuke (根付) were originally small charms used as toggles to hold carrying bags or pouches in place on Japanese clothing (as the clothes did not have pockets). Nowadays it is a term used to describe small charms on lariats which can be used as phone charms, decorative zip pulls, or anything else you can think of.
